Meet byrdiegrants

Mary beth byrd

My name is Mary Beth Byrd, and I am the brains behind Byrdiegrants. I have over a decade of grant writing and management experience, and my career started in 2007 with state and federal education grants. I have a Bachelor of Science in History and Political Science and a Master of Public Administration, both from Florida State University. Along with grants, I also have experience with donor-advised funds from my grants manager role at Schwab Charitable, as well as both high school and community college teaching experience.

Throughout my grant career, I have raised millions for a variety of non-profit and government organizations, including the:

  • Florida State University

  • Fort Worth Police Department

  • North Central Texas Council of Governments

  • Fort Worth Symphony

  • Cook Children’s Health Foundation

My varied education and work experience allow me to understand funders, write top-notch grant applications, and manage grants from cradle to grave. I have experience writing and winning federal, state, and local government grants, as well as writing grants from public, private, and family foundations.

I stay on the leading edge of both nonprofit and grant trends and am an active member of the Grants Professional Association (GPA), the National Grants Management Association (NGMA), and the American Grant Writers Association (AGWA). I am currently a licensed teacher in Texas, a Certified Grant Writer through AGWA, and hold a Grants Professional Certification through GPA.
